Almost too Busy for Supper!

It's been very hard to put aside enough time for baking and cooking! After school, sports, homework and piano there is barely enough time for anything! Even though its been hard I have been able to do a bit of cooking. My cooking this past week ranged from a garden salad to breaded chicken stuffed with bacon and cheese. I did cook a meal that consisted of stuffed chicken, asparagus and potato wedges.
When making stuffed chicken you need to cut the chicken horizontally through the side. Stuff the chicken with whatever you want (best choices are cheese and bacon), then push shut and bread if you want. Put the chicken in the oven at 350 degrees in a glass dish for about 45 minutes and make sure to check! No one wants to eat raw meat!
Asparagus is very easy to overdo. No one wants mush. Put the asparagus in a pot with about two inches of water per clump of asparagus. Put on a lid and bring to a boil. Leave boiling for about 2 minutes then shut it off. The asparagus will continue to cook as long as the lid is on. Make sure to check to make sure you don't overdo it! Also don't forget to strain out the water!
To make the potato wedges you can peel the potatoes or not, depends on your preference! Lay aluminum foil on a flat pan and oil it so they don't stick. Add seasoning or cheese. Put in the oven for about 20 minutes depending on the thickness of the slices. You can just throw them in with the chicken. Always check to make sure you don't burn them!
The end result is always the best part!

Here is my completed meal before I got into an eating frenzy!

  1. Hey Maddie! If your food tastes as good as it looks then it must taste fantastic! I've always wanted to make stuffed chicken but never actually got around to doing it but this has made me want to do it again! Thanks for the tips on how to cook asparagus, i've never cooked it before but its good to know how to avoid overcooking. Cant see what other fantastic meals you're going to be making!

  2. This looks delicious, Maddie, and you give a general idea how to assemble and cook the dishes, but a novice cook would need a bit more guidance in places. For example, I don't know that I would know how to, "check to make sure you don't overdo it!" with the asparagus. I also would need help breading the chicken if I wanted to. Pictures of the process in addition to the pics of your scrumptious looking finished products would be helpful, too.

  3. Next time I will take more pictures to show the entire process and I will be a bit more specific on things so everyone understands!
